We are delighted to have for sale this stunningly beautiful Antique French Gilt Sterling Silver Flatware Set of 3 pieces, finely crafted by Charles-Joachim-Benjamin Dallemagne, active in Paris between 1786-1822.
The Set consists of 3 whole sterling silver dinner size flatware - fork, spoon and knife. The decoration is in most opulent First Empire Era style symmetrical design, rich with gorgeous palmetto and shell motifs here and there. All the 3 pieces are wholly made of the finest quality French sterling silver 950/1000 purity, including the blade of the knife. They have a beautiful Vermeil finish on the surface (gold-washed over sterling silver.) The only reason the gold is partially faded, is that it has been loved thoroughly throughout its long life. The Set is remain free from any form of personalisation (no monogram/initial on the cartouches.)
Hallmarks 1. French "Premier Coq" Rooster No.1 mark, which guaranteed 950/1000 purity solid sterling silver, used in Paris between 1798-1809. This is one of the finest quality silver in the world, purer than standard 925 sterling silver. 2. Guarantee mark of City of Paris. 3. Maker's mark of Charles-Joachim-Benjamin Dallemagne, workshop at 11 rue des Orfèvres, active 3/18/1786-1822 in Paris.

Very Good to Excellent Estate Condition with minor signs of light use. Gilt finish on the surface is partially faded, otherwise in excellent shape. Please refer the detail photos we added.
