Delighted to have for sale this magnificent Antique German Silver-plated Round Shield Wall Plaque by WMF, circa 1890. This fabulous decorative piece features the fierce battle scene of Constantinople with knights, horsemen and lancers struggling in the fight. However the edge is embellished with peaceful cherubs, fruits and flowers, along with four figures of ancient Greek soldiers within cartouches. The work is just superb and done with a masterful attention to detail. Delightful size and excellent condition. No hallmarks can be found, but WMF produced this model in late 19C, in several different sizes.
Measurements & Condition
12.2 inch (31 cm) diameter x 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick.
Excellent Estate Condition. There are few spots slightly faded the plated silver, but minor as its age. Please refer the detail photos I added.
