THIS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING Antique French Sterling Silver Tea / Coffee Service Set by renown skilful Parisian silversmith The Maison Vayrat, active 1832-1840, is presented here for your consideration.

The Set including whole sterling silver 4 pieces; Tea Pot, Coffee Pot, Lidded Sugar Bowl and Milk Pitcher, and a Christofle silver-plated Serving Tray, total 5 pieces. The decoration is most opulent Rococo style, finely embossed the classic Rocaille Rococo scallop borders and a large cartouche, along with acanthus leaf motifs, scrolls and flowers on elegant twist fluted body. The interior of Sugar Bowl and Milk Pitcher has beautiful Vermeil gilt (gold-washed over sterling silver) finish.

The Serving Tray is the work of CHRISTOFLE, having matching Rococo style decoration on raised contoured rim and handles.

This Tea/Coffee Service Set is great for use but also a fabulous piece for display - it would make a stunning addition to your well-appointed table and interior. Excellent condition.

Hallmarked 1. French Minerva No.1 mark, which guaranteed .950 purity sterling silver, used in Paris since 1838. This is one of the finest quality sterling silver, higher than standard .925 sterling silver. 2. Maker's mark of Jean François VEYRAT, 10 rue de la Tour, active 1832-1940. Then he succeed by his son and the Maison Veyrat was a successful silversmith till early 20th Century. The Serving Tray bears Chrsitofle's balance mark and serial numbers (half-visible).

Tea Pot: 7 inch (18 cm) tall x 9.5 inch (24 cm) wide handle. Contains approx. 1,600 cc of liquid.
Coffee Pot: 7 inch (17.8 cm) tall x 9 inch (23 cm) wide with handle, Contains approx. 1,100 cc of liquid.
Sugar Bowl: 6 inch (15 cm) tall x 5.1 inch (13 cm) wide with handle.
Milk Pitcher: 4.3 inch (11.1 cm) tall x 4.3 inch (11.1 cm) wide with handle.
Weight of 4pc (solid Sterling Silver): 61.9 oz (1,755 grams).

Serving Tray measures 21 inch (53.5 cm) x 16.1 inch (41 cm), 3052 grams.

Excellent Estate Condition with minor sign of normal use. The gilt finish on the interior of Sugar Bowl and Milk Pitcher is in excellent shape, still vivid and richly presented (although Milk Pitcher can see the trace of light use, while the Sugar Bowl is in almost pristine condition.)
