DELIGHTED TO HAVE FOR sale this beautiful Antique French Sterling Silver Serving Tureen with serving platter, made by renown and talented Parisian master silversmith HARLEUX.
This gorgeous Serving Tureen comprises deep bowl with side handles, cover, and deep serving platter. The design is sumptuous Louis XVI style with elegant Feuille de Laurier berried laurel pattern border edges. Beautiful Baroque-style flat handles applied to the tureens, finely embellished with foliage swags, laurel, and acanthus motifs. The top finial on the cover is especially beautiful and handsome; a fountain of whole sterling silver casted flower and rose on palmetto base. All the 3 parts bears matching hand-engraved interlaced monogram, probably EL. Circa 1891-1900.
Hallmarked French Minerva No.1 Titre mark on each parts, to guarantee .950 purity sterling silver. This is one of the highest quality sterling silver in the world, purer than standard .925 sterling silver. Maker's mark of HARLEUX for Charles HARLEUX, workshop founded on 32-34 rue Pastourelle, Paris in 1891. T mark, probably serial numbers.
