This is a very beautiful example of Antique French Sterling Silver Napkin Ring with elegant Guilloche engine-turned engraving decoration by renown Parisian silversmith Louis Coignet, active 1869-1928.

Guilloche was a very popular engraving technique during late 19th Century to early 20th Century, allowing to produce a delicate, very fine decoration on the precious metals. This lovely Napkin Ring has elegant scrolling pattern. A centralised shield-shaped cartouche is free from any form of personalisation.

Hallmarked 1. French Minerva No.1 Mark, which guaranteed 950/1000 purity sterling silver (higher than standard 925 sterling) used in Paris since 1838. 2. Maker's mark of Coignet "LC" mark, successful Parisian silversmith from father to son, active between 1869-1928.
