Delighted to have for sale this very handsome Antique French Sterling Silver Napkin Ring, finely crafted by renown Parisian silversmith Claude Doutre-Roussel, active around 1895, 118 rue Vieille du Temple, Paris.
This beautiful Napkin Ring has an elegant Guilloche engine-turned engraving all around the surface, featuring delicate stripes with tiny dots - beloved Napoleon III era style decorative pattern. It embellished with a large oval cartouche on the front. Hand-engraved initial probably G.V..
Hallmarked the French Minerva No.1 mark, which guaranteed 950/1000 purity sterling silver used in Paris since 1838. This is one of the highest silver contents, purer than standard 925 sterling silver. Maker's mark of Doutre-Roussel.

2 inch (5 cm) diameter x 1 1/2 inch (3.8 cm) wide.
Very Good Estate Condition. The ring is not perfectly round, but otherwise less than usual light scratch marks here and there. Please refer the detail photos we added.
