The Set consists of Sugar Sifter (pierced spoon,) Pâté Server, Fork and Knife (fish server,) nicely housing in pearl-white silk and velvet lined presentation case. The design to the handle is sophisticated, perfectly symmetrical Empire style palmetto and foliate swags. It remains free from any form of personalisation. A real beauty of 19th Century French silverware, now professionally cleaned, ready to be collected and enjoyed once again!
Hallmarked French Minerva No.1 Titre mark on each piece, to guarantee .950 purity sterling silver, used in Paris since 1838. This is one of the highest quality sterling silver in the world, purer than standard .925 sterling silver. Maker's mark of Victor Boivin. The firm by Nicolas Vautrin in 1815, the succeeded by his father Jules Boivin in 1862. His son Victor Boivin registered his mark on 1881 at 5 rue de Montmorency in Paris, specialised in small and fashionable silver tablewares.
