Offered for your consideration is this beautiful Antique French Sterling Silver Egg Cup with elegant Napoleon III Era style decoration. The Egg Cup is wholly made of the finest quality French sterling silver .950 purity, standing on a classic round pedestal foot base. On the cup's surface finely embellished with guilloche engine-turned engraving pattern with tiny dots and delicate lines. A raised oval shaped cartouche with pearlé border, foliage motifs and rocaille scallop motif.
Excellent condition.
Hallmarked French Minerva No.1 mark (twice) to guarantee .950 purity sterling silver, used in Paris since 1838. This is one of the finest quality silver in the world, higher than standard .925 sterling. There is also a trace of French silversmith's diamond shape mark, but we could not find the reference.
