THIS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS Antique French Sterling Silver Wine Decanter or Lemonade Pitcher is presented here for your consideration.
The decoration is in elegant Louis XVI style revival, featuring berried laurel swags, foliage motifs, interlaced ribbon border and casted figural finial on the top. It has gorgeous Vermeil (gold-washed over sterling silver) finish on the surface - although it's slightly faded according to its age, but it also has tremendous presence. The crystal body has matching Louis XVI style hand-chased decoration on the upper part.
This Wine Decanter is great for use but also a fabulous piece for display - with its modernist shape, it would make a stunning addition to both traditional and modern interior. Excellent condition.
Hallmarked 1. French Minerva No.1 mark, which guaranteed .950 purity sterling silver, used in Paris since 1838. This is one of the finest quality sterling silver, higher than standard .925 sterling silver. 2. A trace of maker's mark with three stars. 3. French Boar's Head mark, probably re-controlled on past public auction.

11.4 inch (29 cm) tall x 3.9 inch (10 cm) diameter at the widest part of crystal.
Weight: 36.82 oz (1,044 grams), contains approx. 1,000 cc of liquid.
Excellent Estate Condition with minor sign of normal use. The gilt finish on the silver is slightly faded. One very tine micro chip on the upper part of crystal (only noticeable on very close inspection.) Otherwise in quite excellent shape and ready to grace your table. Please refer the detail photos I added.
