This lovely Perfume Bottle has solid sterling silver cap and bottle neck mount with gorgeous Vermeil (gold-washed over sterling silver) finish. The decoration to the cap is Guillochéengine-turned engraving in elegant Napoleon III era style pattern. Those precise, intricate, and repetitive pattern using Guilloché technique was very popular in late 19C to early 20C. Uniquely shaped crystal bottle has gilt painting decoration. Circa 1890.
Hallmarked French Minerva No.1 Titre mark, to guarantee .950 purity sterling silver. This is one of the highest quality sterling silver in the world, purer than standard .925 sterling silver. Maker's mark F & I with a star in circle.
