Offered for your consideration is this very rare Antique French Sterling Silver Nutmeg Grater in elegant Art Deco style, with gorgeous hand-engraving monogram decoration. Nutmeg is an essential spice in French cuisine; many form of graters were produced, and this particular design was very popular in late 19th to early 20th Century. Excellent condition.

Hallmarked French Minerva No.1 Titre mark, to guarantee .950 purity sterling silver. This is one of the highest quality sterling silver in the world, purer than standard .925 sterling silver. Maker mark of French silversmith's lozenge shape, but the letters are not legible.

3.6" (9.3 cm) tall x 1" (2.6 cm). Weight 2.89 Troy ounces (90 grams.)

Excellent Estate Condition with some age-related light scratch marks from long years of right use. A few tiny, dimple-like dents on the bottom of the cover. Otherwise in quite excellent shape and ready to collect, use, or display.
