Offered for your consideration is a very beautiful Antique French Sterling Silver Tea/Coffee/Chocolate Cup & Saucer Set with elegant guilloché engraving decoration. Guilloché is a kind of engine-turned engraving technique that was very popular in late 19C to early 20C in Paris. This Cup & Saucer Set showcases very intricate and gorgeous Rococo style foliage scrolling pattern border guilloché. The casted handle has matching Rococo acanthus design. The interior of the cup has fabulous Vermeil finish (gold-washed over sterling silver.) Both cup and saucer bear a beautiful hand-engraved monogram with interlaced letters, probably CH. Hallmarked French Minerva No.1 Titre mark on cup and saucer, to guarantee .950 purity sterling silver. This is one of the highest quality sterling silver in the world, purer than standard .925 sterling silver. Maker's mark "Y & F" with an animal in lozenge shape.
