Offered for your consideration is this fabulous Antique French Sterling Silver Serving Bowl or "Legumier", vegetable/fruit serving dish. This large piece is wholly made of the finest quality French sterling silver .950 purity. The size is delightful 13.7" (34.8cm) wide with side handles. The design is opulent Louis XVI style; it embellished with raised feuille d'eau pattern with interlaced ribbon border on the rim, and the flat-shaped side handles are finely pieced foliage and floral motifs in an elegant composition. It also bears a intricate hand-engraved monogram with classic gothic letters, probably DMS or AMS.

Hallmarked the French Minerva No.1 Titre marks (3 times.) It guarantees 950/1000 purity sterling silver (higher than standard 925/1000 sterling) used in Paris since 1838. A trace of French silversmith's master mark, but it's not legible.
