DELIGHTED TO HAVE FOR SALE this very lovely ANTIQUE FRENCH STERLING SILVER & CRYSTAL OPEN SALT CELLARS SET of 3 matching pieces. This very rare lozenge shaped Salt Cellar Set comprises 3 solid silver holders, 3 cobalt blue crystal containers, and 3 silver serving spoons. The design to the holder is stunning - finely pierced, embossed, and chased with masterful attention to details. With symmetrical acanthus scrolls and berried laurel pattern with architectural elements, a putti or cherub plays musical instrument with serious expression on his face. It's interesting to notice that his legs are hoofed.
We add these very lovely and tiny silver Salt Serving Spoons with putti/cherub decoration to complete the set.
Hallmarked French silversmith's lozenge marks on each piece, but they are either faded or imperfect, we could not found the reference. They are tested as solid silver (not silver-plated), possibly sterling silver, though we could not found the Minerva marks.
